An occupant protection device for protecting a person sitting on a front passenger seat of a vehicle includes an airbag module constituted so as to be mounted to an instrument panel of the vehicle on a front side of the person sitting on the front passenger seat. The module includes the airbag and a gas generator. The airbag includes left and right expandable lobes separated by a central gap. Each of the expandable lobe is bounded by an outer panel for forming an outer surface of the lobe and an inner panel for forming an inner surface of the lobe.
