Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bearing which allows easy and sure adhesion and fixation of a cap to the top end of a sleeve. SOLUTION: This air bearing is constituted by having a stationary shaft 1 and revolving sleeve 2 rotatably fitting to each other and sealing the aperture of the revolving sleeve 2, thereby forming an air damper chamber 12. The cap 13 comprises a light transmissible material. A UV curing adhesive 14 is used for the adhesion of the cap 13 and is irradiated with UV rays from above the cap 13, by which not only the adhesive 14 protruding to the outer side of the cap 13 but the adhesive 14 infiltrating the inside of the air damper chamber 12 as well may be cured and the infiltration of the uncured adhesive 14 into the bearing spacing is prevented.
