To enable the installation of an air cleaner provided with a motor driven multivane fan to an optimum place in a room and to efficiently capture and decompose very small dust, toxic gases, etc., by integrating and building the air cleaner into an illumination device and hanging the air cleaner in the central part of a room in tight contact with a ceiling.
Suction ports 2 are formed to face each other and throttled blow-off ports are disposed to face each other at both ends of a casing 6 having a flow regulating plate enclosing the multivane fan 5 rotated by a motor 4. Plural fluorescent lamps 7 are disposed as the illumination device and a turbid light transparent cover 8 is used to make downward illumination uniform. The parts exclusive of the suction ports 2 and the blow-off ports are hermetically closed by the lower light transparent cover 8 and an upper cover 1. Consequently, the outside air is admitted into the hermetically closed inside 10 through the filter 9 from the suction ports 2 by the rotation of the multivane fan 5. Further, the air is sucked into an aperture 11 under the casing 6 and is vigorously emitted outside from the blow-off ports continuous with the flow regulating pipe of the casing 6.
