To provide an air cleaner having an electric discharging dust collection unit and a U.V. ray lamp unit, and capable of using it by switching a fan operation for performing rapid cleaning by fan driving to an ionic wind operation for performing quiet sound and power saving cleaning by an ionic wind.

This device is provided with electric discharging dust collection units 4, 5, a U.V. ray lamp unit 6 arranging a U.V. ray lamp 61 in a ventilation path 63 formed with shielding plates 62a, 62b, a fan 7 for ventilating to the respective units and also is provided with an electric discharging unit 4a for accelerating an ionic wind generated with electric discharge of the electric discharging dust collection units 4, 5 in the vicinity of the U.V. ray lamp unit 6. This device can switch a fan operation to an ionic wind operation utilizing the ionic wind caused by respective electric discharges of the electric discharging dust collection units 4, 5 and the electric discharge unit 4a. Also the shielding plates 62a, 62b of the U.V. ray lamp 61 are made into an counter electrode of the electric discharge unit 4a.
