To provide an air cleaning apparatus causing no problem for irradiating pleat surfaces with light, even if the pleats of a pleat-like member formed by alternatively folding sheet pieces with photocatalyst layers formed on both surfaces, present curved pleat-like form.
The air cleaning apparatus includes one or a plurality of pleat-like members 3 formed by alternatively folding sheet pieces 9 having both surfaces with photocatalyst layers formed thereon and having a plurality of spaces 11; a housing 5 containing the pleat members with the spaces blocked with first opened faces 15; and one or a plurality of light sources 7 disposed in the housing, irradiating second opened faces 17 of the spaces of the pleat members with light, and activating the photocatalyst layers.
