To improving the cold accumulating capability by operating a cold accumulating cooling coil also in freeze prevention in which an air conditioning evaporator is stopped, concerning an air conditioner provided with a cold accumulator, to be applied to a vehicular air conditioner.
In a device in which for alternately operating an air conditioning evaporator 4 arranged through a second solenoid valve 7, and a cold accumulating cooling coil 8 arranged through a first solenoid valve 11, a frost thermostat 13 is operated when the temperature of the air conditioning evaporator 4 is lowered, a controller 14 closes the second solenoid valve 7 and opens the first solenoid valve 11 to allow refrigerant to flow to the cold accumulating cooling coil 8, while, the controller 14 opens the second solenoid valve 7 closes the first solenoid valve 11 to allow refrigerant to flow to the evaporator 4 when the frost thermostat 13 is not operated. Since the frost thermostat 13 is operated and a compressor 1 is operated even if inflow of refrigerant to the evaporator 4 is stopped for freeze prevention, refrigerant can be allowed to flow to the cooling coil 8, and the cold accumulating capability is improved.
