Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a transporting machine capable of alleviating an engine load by supplying cooling air of a necessary amount to a living room or the like and reducing a gas extraction of the engine. SOLUTION: The gas extraction output from the engine (including an auxiliary power unit(APU)) is cooled by a primary heat exchanger PHE. The cooled extraction gas rotatably drives a first turbine T1 and is adiabatically expanded. A ram air raised to a predetermined pressure in a compressor C is again cooled by a reheater RH cooled by a secondary heat exchanger SHE, and then joined with the adiabatically expanded extraction gas at a confluent point MP. The joined air is cooled to a temperature of dew point or lower in a condenser COND, then extracted by a water extractor WE by means of a centrifugal separation, reheated by the reheater RH, and adiabatically expanded by a second turbine T2 to become cooling air. The cooling air is supplied to a crew and passenger room 20.
