To provide an air conditioner capable of obtaining a high coefficient-of-performance value by adopting a dual cycle having an expander in an outdoor side (first) refrigerating cycle, and utilizing the power of the expander to drive a liquid pump in an indoor side (second) refrigerating cycle.
The air conditioner 1 is composed of the first refrigerating cycle S1 with a compressor 2a, a first heat exchanger 2b, the expander 2c and an intermediate heat exchanger H sequentially piped and connected, and the second refrigerating cycle S2 having a second heat exchanger 3a piped and connected to the intermediate heat exchanger H, wherein a liquid pump P driven by the power of the expander 2c is installed between the intermediate heat exchanger H and the second heat exchanger 3a along the flow of a refrigerant R2 flowing in the second refrigerating cycle S2.
