To provide an air conditioner capable of maintaining deodorization capacity without deteriorating performance of a deodorization filter.
The air conditioner has an indoor unit having the adsorption type deodorization filter 7 purifying indoor air, and an electrostatic atomization device 18 generating electrostatic mist. When operation of the air conditioner is stopped, by controlling the electrostatic atomization device 18 so as to operate for a predetermined time, odor components adsorbed by the deodorization filter 7 can be decomposed by the electrostatic mist (OH radical) generated by the electrostatic atomization device 18. The deodorization performance is recovered, and a high deodorization means not requiring replacement can be maintained.
