In the indoor unit of the air conditioner, the shape of a closest part with the cross flow fan 25, continuously provided from a right edge to a left edge of the rear guider 28, is provided in almost parallel to the axial direction of the cross flow fan 25, at least two or more almost parallel proximity sections are provided whose positions are different with respect to the rotating direction of the cross flow fan 25, and the gap between the proximity sections is formed continuously.
