To provide an air conditioning apparatus that can warn a user against an error that is highly likely to be caused from the installation work thereof.
The air conditioning apparatus includes: an operation time measuring unit 2 for measuring an operation time; a failure detection unit 3 for detecting a failure; and a sound alarming unit 4 for alarming with a sound when a failure occurs during operation. The air conditioning apparatus notifies of a failure by the sound alarming unit 4 when the failure detection unit 3 detects the failure by the time when a predetermined time passes after starting a first-time operation of the air conditioning apparatus, but when the failure detection unit 3 detects the failure after the predetermined time has passed since the start of the first-time operation of the air conditioning apparatus, the air conditioning apparatus does not use the sound alarming unit 4 to notify of the failure.
