A controller 12 controls the quantity of outside air supplied to air conditioning chambers 2a and 2b, the cooling temperature of a cooler 4, the heating temperature of a heater 5 and the humidification rate of a humidifier 6 according to the temperature and humidity of outside air detected by a temperature sensor 10 and a humidity sensor 11 to whereby mix outside air discharged from the air conditioning chambers 2a and 2b and supply outside air conditioned to a set temperature and a set humidity to a painting booth. In such an air conditioning system, the controller 12 can control the temperature and humidity of outside air to the set temperature and set humidity by using sensible heat and latent heat of outside air to reduce energy necessary for temperature and humidity control of outside air.
