Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent air cooled slag from being deposited in a housing and hence keep normal operation of a mold conveyor unchanged by falling down the air cooled slag left behind in a reversed mold and discharging the slag to the outside of the housing.
SOLUTION: The present apparatus includes a housing 3 having an air cooled slag discharge hole 3a, and a mold conveyor 5 disposed in the housing 3 and including a mold 4 for receiving molten slag S. During movement of the mold 4 the molten slag S is air cooled and solidified, and the air cooled slag S' is fallen and discharged from the air cooled slag discharge hole 3a upon inversion of the mold 4. Herein, there are disposed in the vicinity of the mold conveyor 5 an air cooled slag detector 6 for detecting the presence of the air cooled slag S' in the mold 4 just after the inversion and a striking-down apparatus 7 actuated on the basis of detection of the air cooled slag S' for falling down the air cooled slag S' left behind in the mold 4. Hereby, the air cooled stag S' fallen down from the mold 4 is discharged to the outside of the housing 3.
