PURPOSE: To thin the thickness of an air filter apparatus and lessen the number of parts and assembly processes by holding a filter element of an air cleaning filter with a frame of the air cleaning filter and a prefilter.
CONSTITUTION: A prefilter 1 is installed in the sucking side of an air cleaning filter. The air cleaning filter is composed of a filter element 4 and a frame 40 in which the element 4 is inset. The filter element 4 is supported by the frame 40 and the prefilter 1. As a result, the prefilter 1 works also as one of an installation frames to support the filter element 4 and thus the thickness of the air filter is thinned. Moreover, since the prefilter works also as one installation frame. the number of the parts and assembly processes of the air filter apparatus is lessened.
