PURPOSE: To clean an air filter when a turntable is stopped by vertically moving and oscillating a nozzle and injecting air from the nozzle to blow off the dust extending from the inlet of the peripheral fold of the filter to the inner part.

CONSTITUTION: The air filter carrying turntable 3 is placed in the cleaning chamber 6 of a cleaning housing 1 and made freely rotatable around its vertical axis, and the table 3 is rotated by its driving means 2. The inner and outer air nozzles 4 and 5 are vertically moved by their driving means 7 in linkage with each other inside and outside the air filter A placed on the table 3. The means 2 is provided with a mechanism for intermittently driving the table 3, and the nozzles 4 and 5 are oscillated and moved up and down by the means 7 while the table 3 is stopped. Consequently, the dust extending from the inlet of the peripheral fold of the filter to the inner part is surely blown off, and the filter is cleaned.
