PURPOSE: To enable the enlargement of a dynamic range without increasing the whole height of an engine by parallel disposing plural fuel injection valves mounted at the rear side parts of the injection bodies of air-fuel injection devices within the plane intersecting the cylinder axes diagonally.
CONSTITUTION: An air-fuel injecting device 19 mounted at the upper part of a combustion chamber 17 formed at the lower face of a cylinder head 4 is formed of an injection body 20 as a main part, a valve mechanism for switching the nozzles 26c, 26g of an air chamber 27 and a fuel chamber 28 as chambers formed in the injection body 20, a fuel injection valve 22 mounted at the rear side part of the outer wall of the injection body 20. In this case, a passage-like air chamber 27 is formed in an inner housing 26 in the housing 23 of the injection body 20, and a passage-like fuel chamber 28 is formed at the boundary part of the outer and inner housings 25, 26. Plural fuel injection valves 22 cylinder by cylinder are parallel disposed as a whole within the plane intersecting the cylinder axes diagonally.
