To provide a highly flexible purification unit for efficiently clearing and detoxifying viruses and bacteria in the air or contaminated air and gas in various indoor spaces.SOLUTION: An air purification unit 1 includes an air purification container 2, an air purification base material 24 and an air guiding structure. The air purification base material 24 is accommodated in the air purification container 2, and the air purification base material 24 is a base material into which air is sent to filter, kill, inactivate, adsorb or decompose viruses and impurities in the sent air. The air purification base material 24 has an approximately granular shape. Air is caused to flow from an air hole 21 into the air purification base material 24 and can be purified or sterilized through air purification action by heat of a heat source 19 and a light source 19, ultraviolet rays or light of the light source 19 or a photocatalyst.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
