To improve environmental conditions by emitting negative ion with a reduced amount of generated ozone into the air of a residence space.
The device body is provided with an ionizing device 1 in its air way. The ionizing device 1 is provided with an electric discharge chamber 11 which communicates with the air way through an orifice 12, a first electrode 13 which is provided in the proximity of the orifice 12, a second electrode 14 which is opposed to the first electrode 13 in the electric discharge chamber 11 and forms a high potential difference with the first electrode 13 and a gas supplying device 2 which communicates with the electric discharge chamber 11 and supplies gas under pressure to be ionized to the electric discharge chamber 11. The gas is ejected from the orifice 12 and a negative ion is emitted to the air way with ozone limited.
