Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an aircraft deicing composition comprising each specific glycol, nonionic surfactant, corrosion inhibitor and water at a specific ratio with a long reicing-protection time and excellent flow properties.
CONSTITUTION: Desired aircraft deicing compositions and anti-icing compositions comprise glycerol and water as the major components and essentially comprise (A) 60-97 (wt.)% one or more glycols selected from the group consisting of 2-3C alkylene glycols and 4-6C cxyalkylene glycols, (B) 0.01-1% one or more nonionic surfactants selected from the group consisting of aliphatic alcohols and aliphatic alcohols alkoxylated with a low molecular weight alkoxide and having 1-10 alkoxide units, (C) 0.01-0.8% one or more corrosion inhibitors such as an alkali metal phosphate, and (D) balance water, based on the total amount of 100%.
