PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm capable of readily changing the specification of operation or the like.SOLUTION: An alarm 1 includes: a detection unit 2 including a sensor 20 for monitoring a physical phenomenon; a notification unit 9 for performing notification on the basis of a detection result by the detection unit 2; a control unit 3 for determining change in an ambient environment from the detection result by the detection unit 2, and controlling notification operation; and a communication unit 4 for communicating information with an external apparatus by short-range wireless communication. The alarm 1 further includes: storage means 5 for storing apparatus information on the alarm 1; and specification determination means 6 for determining the specification of the alarm 1 on the basis of the information received by the communication unit 4 and the information stored in the storage means 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
