PURPOSE: To automatically align a bar article of chopsticks, etc., by intermittently feed-driving aconveying means as well as inclining a contact surface of an aligning plate at a specified angle so that it becomes non-rectangular negative to the moving direction of the bar article.

CONSTITUTION: A conveying belt 16 is provided below an input port 14 of an outer box 11 so as to be inclined downward toward the side of a storage container 13. An aligning plate 21 is provided above the storage container 13, and a gap G is provided between the aligning plate 21 and the conveying belt 16. The contact surface of the aligning plate 21 is inclined at an angle β in the horizontal direction relative to the moving direction of the conveying belt 16 and it is inclined at an upward opening angle γ so as to open its upper part. When the bar article makes contact with the aligning plate 21, its head end part slides on the contact surface of the aligning plate 21 along inclination, the whole of the bar article turns toward the direction along the axial direction, and the bar article drops through the gap G. In the case when a clogging phenomenon of the bar article takes place, it is possible to intermittently reverse the conveying belt 16 and to prevent the clogging phenomenon.
