PURPOSE: To make possible alignment measurement without digging down the ground by operating an actuator, with a vehicle loaded on a plate-like base and moving the car body of a vehicle in the vertical direction to measure the alignment value of the vehicle.

CONSTITUTION: A vehicle 14 is horizontally placed on an alignment measuring device 10, with front wheels 15 of the vehicle placed on a base 29 and with rear wheels 30 placed on a rear base 31. Measurement terminals 18 of the alignment measuring device 11 are respectively installed on the wheels 19 of right and left front wheels 15, and further the measurement terminal of a car body sensor is brought into contact with a chassis frame 25. Pressure oil is suplied to a hydraulic cylinder of an actuator to elongate and contract a piston rod, whereby the frame of the vehicle 14 is raised and lowered. The travel distance is converted into an electric signal to be measured by a sensor, and simultaneously the displacements in the longitudinal, lateral and vertical directions of each front wheel 15 of the vehicle 14 are converted into electric signals by the measuring device 11 so as to measure the alignment value.
