Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a polymer for providing an injection molded product excellent in heat resistance, toughness and flowing characteristic in working by condensing an organic diisocyanate with an imido carboxylic acid having a specified structure.
CONSTITUTION: An organic diisocyanate (suitably, 2,4- and 2,6- tolylenediisocyanate and the like) and an imidocarboxylic acid of the formula (R is H or C1-6 alkyl; (x) is 1-12) (suitably, trimellitimido caproic acid or the like) are condensed at 50-380°C, as occasion demands, under the presence of a solvent and a catalyst to provide the objective polymer. When the reaction is performed under the presence of the solvent, N-methylpyrolidone is preferably used as the solvent.
