Abstract:
To provide an alkaline water electrolysis apparatus that can decrease an overvoltage while maintaining the state of an electrode.SOLUTION: An alkaline water electrolysis apparatus 10 performs an electrolysis by arranging an anode electrode 40 and a cathode electrode 42 facing each other in an alkaline water solution W, and by supplying an electric power to the anode electrode 40 and the cathode electrode 42. The anode electrode 40 is composed of a semiconductor that generates an electromotive force by receiving light. The alkaline water electrolysis apparatus 10 comprises: a light emitting body 48, which is arranged in a gap 44 between the anode electrode 40 and the cathode electrode 42, and emits light to the anode electrode 40; and a stirring mechanism 60 which stirs the alkaline water solution W while moving the light emitting body 48 in a direction in which the gap 44 is continuous.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
