PURPOSE: To obtain a polymer of a ≥3C α-olefin, having an [η], a 20°C xylene soluble content (wt.%) and a 105°C xylene insoluble content (wt.%) falling within respective specific ranges, exhibiting low tackiness and excellent processability and suitable for film, fiber, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The α-olefin polymer is a polymer of ≥3C α-olefin (propylene, butene-1, etc.) having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5-10 (preferably 0.7-8.0), a 20°C xylene soluble content (CXS wt.%) of 0-15 (preferably 0.1-12) and a 105°C xylene insoluble content (XIS wt.%) of 70.00-3.64CXS or less, preferably 57.28-3.64CXS or less and 20.00-3.64CXS or more. It can be produced by polymerizing an α- olefin in the presence of a catalyst system consisting of (A) a solid catalyst component containing Mg, Ti, a halogen and an electron donor as essential components, (B) an organic aluminum compound and (C) an electron donor component while controlling the polymerization condition.
