NEW MATERIAL: A compound of formula I [wherein R is a hetero atom and/or a 3-20C hydrocarbon (substituted with various functional groups) and a compound derived by protecting the carboxylic functional group and/or amino functional group are protected, provided that a compound in which R is -CHY-Z [wherein Z is a (substituted) phenyl and Y is a lower alkyl, H or OH] and a compound of formula II are excluded.
EXAMPLE: 2-(N-benzoylamino)-2-trifluoromethylpent-4-enoic acid. U:Medicines. Used as an inhibitor against enzymes especially amino acid deecarboxylase and amino acid transminase.
PREPARATION: A 5-substituted 4-trifluoromethyloxazole of formula III (wherein X is a halogen; and R1 is an aryl, a heteroaryl, an alkyl, a cycloalkyl or the like is reacted with a β,γ-unsaturated alcohol such as allyl alcohol, and the product is rearranged to obtain a compound of formula I.
