Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate unnecessary processing by reading an alternative sector to generate a management table at the time when data indicting that data is written in an alternative sector of a recording medium is written. CONSTITUTION:When data will be written in the alternative sector of the recording medium, this intention is preliminarily written in a vendor unique area, and the vendor unique area is read t the time of loading the recording medium; and if data indicating that data is written in the alternative sector is written, the alternative sector is read to generate the management table. The vendor unique area is read at the time of loading the recording medium, and the alternative sector is not read and the management table is not generated if data indicating that data is written in the alternative sector is not written; and therefore, this constitution eliminates unnecessary processing.
