Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture an Al alloy for forming excellent in strength and ductility, by subjecting an ingot of an alloy having a specific composition consisting of Mg, Zn, Cu, Fe, Cr, Zr, Ti, and Al to specific homogenizing treatment and then to process annealing prior to cold rolling.

CONSTITUTION: The ingot of an Al alloy consisting of 3.5W5.8% Mg, 0.5W3.5% Zn, 0.01W0.1% Cu, 0.01W0.5% Fe, 0.01W0.5% Cr, 0.005W0.3% Zr, 0.001W0.25% Ti, and the balance Al is subjected to homogenizing treatment at 450W580°C to improve strength and ductility. Subsequently, the ingot after the homogenizing treatment is subjected, after hot working and before cold rolling, to process annealing at 320W480°C so as to improve the ductility of the Al-alloy material. In this way, the Al-alloy material excellent in strength, ductility, and formability can be obtained.
