Abstract:
To provide an aluminum alloy wire rod having strength, elongation, electric conductivity and heat resistance at high levels in good balance.SOLUTION: A wire rod made of aluminum alloy has a chemical composition comprising 0.1 to 1.0 mass% of Co, 0.2 to 1.0 mass% of Zr, 0.02 to 0.15 mass% of Fe, 0.02 to 0.15 mass% of Si, 0 to 0.2 mass% of Mg, 0 to 0.10 mass% of Ti, 0 to 0.03 mass% of B, 0 to 1.00 mass% of Cu, 0 to 0.50 mass% of Ag, 0 to 0.50 mass% of Au, 0 to 1.00 mass% of Mn, 0 to 1.00 mass% of Cr, 0 to 0.50 mass% of Hf, 0 to 0.50 mass% of V, 0 to 0.50 mass% of Sc, and a balance of Al and inevitable impurities, and a metallographic structure comprising an Al crystal grain, an Al-Co-Fe compound and an Al-Zr compound. The wire rod has a tensile strength of 180 MPa or more, an electric conductivity of 53% IACS or more, and an elongation of 10% or more. The Arrhenius plot obtained from the temperature and the time when the tensile strength of the wire rod decreases by 10% from the initial tensile strength satisfies a condition of 10 years or more for a temperature of 200°C .SELECTED DRAWING: None
