Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition for tire tread improved in workability while imparting sufficient grip performance and rolling resistance reducing effect by using aluminum hydroxide having a specific center particle diameter, a specified specific surface area and a specific fine pore diameter distribution as a filler.
SOLUTION: This aluminum hydroxide having 0.1-8μm center particle diamete (secondary particle diameter), ≥30m2/g BET specific surface area and 1-10nm maximal value in the fine pore diameter distribution is obtained by mixing to neutralize a basic solution and an acidic solution, one or both of which contains aluminum ion, under a high revolution high shear agitation and, after cleaning the resultant neutralized product, drying using a flash dryer, a thermal transfer type dryer or a vacuum dryer. As the basic solution, an aq. solution of alkali aluminate, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, ammonia and as the acidic solution, aluminum sulfate, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid or acetic acid are used.
