NEW MATERIAL:An amide compound shown by formula I (R is H or OH; X is S, -SO-, -SO2-or-NH-; n is 1-6; one of m and 1 is 0 and the other is 1) or a salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: 3-{(3-(p-Methoxyphenyl)-2-(n-methylcarbamoyl)propyl]sulfonyl}-5- methylhexanohydroxamic acid.
USE: A drug having inhibitory action on collagenase, effective for corneal ulcer, epidermolysis bullosa, tumorous infiltration or bone absorption disease considered to be mainly caused by collagen decomposition activity.
PREPARATION: For example, a compound shown by formula II (R1 is OH- protecting group; one of Y1 and Y2 is halogen, the other is thiol, one of Y1 and Y2 is acetal and the other is amino or when the raw material compound is shown by formula IV, Y2 is amino; l1 is 0 or 1) or the compound shown by formula IV is reacted with a compound shown by formula III to give a compound shown by formula I wherein X is S or -NH-.
