To obtain the subject new compound having significant activity against cell differentiation and proliferation and especially useful, in the form of a pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition for humans or livestock, in e.g. the treatment of skin symptoms with keratogenetic disorders or inflammation or the like, dermal or epidermal hyperplasia or the like.
This new compound is an amide-derived biaromatic compound of formula I [Ar is a group of formula II (R5 is H, a halogen, lower alkyl or the like), formula III the like; Z is CO-NR7 (R7 is H or a lower alkyl); R1 is CH3, CH2-OR6 (R6 is H, a 1-20C straight-chain or branched alkyl or the like), OR6 or the like; R2 and R3 are each H, a 1-20C straight-chain or branched alkyl, OR6 or the like; R4 has the same meaning as R5; X is H or a lower alkyl; Y is (CH2)n-CH3 ((n) is an integer of 2-20) or the like], e.g. anti-4-[α- hydroxyhexylimino-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-2-naphthyl) acetamido]benzoic acid.
