Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide test elements useful in the diagnosis of a bacterial vaginosis and for other biological conditions, in tests of elevated pH and volatile amines in aqueous fluids.
SOLUTION: This test elements provides clear and sharp transitions detectable by visual or machine readable means without depending on subjective determination such as small gradations in color or olfactory measurement, by using a mixed indicator and an indicator held in a matrix permeable to gas and non- permeable to fluids. The tests are convenient for displaying the tests in an icon reading system, or for including positive and negative control.
