PURPOSE: To provide a medicine for treating depression, cerebral insufficiency or dementias containing a specific amine such as N-butyl-4- chlorobenzenemethanamine novel excepting a part as an active component.
CONSTITUTION: A compd. represented by the formula [wherein E is H or lower alkyl or Ar1-A1-; Ar and Ar1 are aryl or heteroaryl capable of having at least one substituent used in pharmaceutical chemistry, A and A' are 1-2C alkylene connecting Ar or Ar1 to N and capable of having a substituent (alkyl or aryl capable of having a substituent; B is 3-4C alkylene capable of having lower alkyl; D1 is halogen, CH3, CH1R2NH2, SO3H or SO2NR6R7; R1, R2, R6 and R7 are each H or lower alkyl and R6 and R7 are 7-12C aralkyl or an NR6R7 5-6- membered ring] novel excepting a part or a salt thereof is added as an active component to obtain a medicine, especially, a selective γ-aminobutyric acid(GABA) self-regulation acceptor agent.
