To obtain an aminoalkyd resin comps. which can form a cured coating film excellent in nonslip properties by cocondensing a specific alkyd resin with an amino resin and compounding the resultant aminoalkyd resin with a cure catalyst.
An aminoalkyd resin having a number average mol.wt. of 2,500-5,000 is obtd. by cocondensing an alkyd resin having a number average mol.wt. of 2,000-7,000 and a wt. average mol.wt. of 5,000-150,000 with an amino resin comprising an alkoxy-modified urea-melamine resin having a number average mol.wt. of 1,200-5,000 in a wt. ratio of (20:80)-(70:30). The alkyd resin is obtd. by reacting a dihydroxy compd. component comprising 5-40wt.% polycarbonate diol represented by the formula (wherein R1 and R2 are each a 2-9C alkylene or a 6-10C alicyclic alkylene; and (n) is 2-20), 5-45wt.% 1,6-hexanediol, and other hydroxyl compds. (e.g. trimethylolpropane) with an aliph. carboxylic acid component. Thus obtd. aminoalkyd resin in an amt. of 100 pts.wt. (solid basis) is compounded with 0.1-10 pts.wt. cure catalyst.
