Title:
AMORPHOUS ALLOY THIN FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6427210
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To attain a large coercive force, excellent photomagnetic optical characteristic and anti-oxidation characteristic by setting a content of Pt and/or Pd to 15 atomic % or higher among a specific element such as Fe, Co, Pt, Pd, and heavy rare earth.

CONSTITUTION: An amorphous alloy thin film is composed of at least a kind selected from Fe and Co, at least a kind selected from Pt, Pd and at least a kind selected from heavy rare earth element. The content of Pt and/or Pd is 15 atomic % and such amorphous alloy thin film has an axis for easy magnetization perpendicular to the film surface. Fe or Co or both of them exist in the amorphous alloy thin film in such amount of 5W70 atomic %. Pt or Pd or both of them exist therein, more desirably in such amount of 18W70 atomic %. In addition, at least a kind of heavy rare earth element selected from Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho exists in such amount of 10W40 atomic %. Thereby, a large coercive force, excellent photomagnetic characteristic and anti-oxidation characteristic can be attained.
