PURPOSE: To obtain a blend which can provide a transparent molding possessing excellent stability and mechanical properties at a high temp. by blending a specified amorphous semiarom. polyamide with a nylon type semicrystalline polyamide to prepare an amorphous, single-phase blend.

CONSTITUTION: This blend is a single-phase, amorphous blend comprising an amorphous semiarom. polyamide and a nylon type semicrystalline polyamide. In the blend of two polyamides, the content of the nylon type semicrystalline polyamide is small. The semiarom. polyamide comprises repeating units represented by formulae I to IV in its structure. The nylon type semicrystalline polyamide is selected from among nylon 66, nylon 6, a mixture of nylon 66 with nylon 6, and copolymers prepd. from the above monomers used in the preparation of nylon 66 and nylon 6. The content of the semicrystalline polyamide is smaller than 40% of the total wt. of the semiarom. polyamide and the semicrystalline polyamide.
