Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the subject copolymers obtained by copolymerizing respective specific monomers.

CONSTITUTION: A monomer such as methyl methacrylate represented by formula I (wherein R1 is CH3, H, F, Cl, CF3 or a group represented by formula II) and a monomer, for example, 4(methacryloyloxyhexyloxy)-4'-cyanobiphenyl represented by formula III (wherein R2 is R1, X is a group represented by formula IV, O or S, m is 0.2≤m≤10 and Y is 1 or 2) are copolymerized to obtain a branched copolymer represented by formula IV [wherein (x) is a mol ratio depending on properties of an X-group and X is a group represented by formula IV (if 1≤P≤3, o<x≤1 and, if X is O and S, o<x<1, 1≤n≤6)].
