Title:
FLAME-RETARDANT POLYOLEFIN RESIN COMPOSITION SUITABLE FOR EXTRUSION MOLDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3198720
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition containing flame-retardant component particles covered with closely contacting olefin polymer layer and dispersed in a polyolefin resin matrix, free from generation of toxic gas, having excellent appearance and mechanical properties and useful for automotive parts, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The flame-retardant component to be used in the resin composition is e.g. a combination of ammonium polyphosphate or melamine-modified ammonium polyphosphate with a reactional product of formaldehyde and a cyclic ketone composed of ≥5-membered heterocyclic group containing nitrogen atom in the ring. The flame-retardant component has an olefin polymer layer closely contacting to the surface and is dispersed in a polyolefin resin matrix such as PE through the olefin polymer layer. The weight ratio of the olefin polymer to the flame retardant component is 1/99 to 25/75.
