To anchor the armored wire of an armored cable easily and certainly.
When anchoring the armored wire 54 of the armored cable 51 with an anchoring device 41 shown in the cross section of figure 3 (a), the armored wire 54 is caught with the anchoring faces 45 consisting of both tapered faces (42a and 43a) of an anchor 42 and a wedge 43 constituting an anchoring member 48. As shown in figure (b), corrugation 46 is given to at least one hand of the anchoring faces 45, and it is provided with a surface hardening layer 47 having higher hardness than that of the armored wire 54 so as to let it put into the armored wire 54 at press fitting, thereby increasing frictional coefficient. Moreover, the hardness of the anchoring member 48 is made equal to or lower than that of the armored wire 54 so as to produce plastic transformation mainly in the anchoring member 48, thereby increasing the contact area between the armoring wire and the anchoring member. The holding power on the same level as the rupture strength of the armored wire can be obtained by the increase of the frictional coefficient and the contact area.
