Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately detect an angular velocity by setting the driving frequency of an oscillator which generates an oscillatory wave in a case so that length which is an odd multiple of its half wavelength is nearly equal to the distance between case internal wall surfaces where a Coriolis force operates. CONSTITUTION:The angular velocity detecting device is so constituted when the oscillation signal of frequency (f) is inputted from the oscillator L to a speaker 3, the oscillatory wave of the frequency (f) is oscillated from the speaker 13. Here, when an angular velocity W is applied to the case 2, the Coriolis force is generated as shown by an arrow Y and a microphone 4a generates an oscillation-directional component of a sound toward a microphone 4b. The half-wavelength length of the output frequency (f) of the oscillator 1 is equalized to the distance l between both the microphones 4a and 4b. Conse quently, when the angular velocity W is not applied, the half-wavelength compo nent resonates between the microphones and only the oscillation component, i.e. angular velocity component is amplified to accurately detect the angular velocity.
