Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an animal receiving apparatus to transfer experimental small animals into an aseptic chamber while sterilizing the animal container box holding the animals.
CONSTITUTION: An end of a tunnel path 4 provided with a chain conveyor 3 for transferring an animal container box is placed close to the reception port 2 opened on a prescribed wall of an aseptic chamber 1. A sterilizing spray lance 6 for spraying a sterilization agent from the circumference of the path using spray pipes 5 is formed in the middle of the tunnel path 4. Partition curtains 7 for preventing the flow-out of the spray stream are placed before and after the sterilization spray lance 6 and openable doors 8, 9 are placed at the terminal inlet port and outlet port before and after the curtains. Since an animal container box is automatically passed through the sterilization spray lance 6 for spraying the sterilizing agent simply by placing the box on the chain conveyor 3, animal container boxes having sterilized outer surface can continuously be transferred into the aseptic chamber.
