Abstract:

PURPOSE: To sharpen the rise and fall waveforms of a regenerative signal due to a light receiving element by connecting operational amplifiers with gain limit feedback paths at both terminals of the light receiving element consisting of the optical reception circuit.
CONSTITUTION: A light receiving element 1 is provided, both terminals of the light receiving element 1 are connected between the input terminals of operational amplifiers 2 having the gain limit feedback paths composed of transistors 22, and a comparator 3 is connected to the output of the operational amplifiers 2. When connecting the operational amplifiers 2 with gain limit feedback paths to the light receiving element 1, a light receive signal can be reproduced with fidelity even when there is dispersion in the characteristics of the light receiving element 1. As a result, the regenerative signal sharpening the rise and fall waveforms can be provided and optical communication can be performed even in serial communication utilizing RS232C, for example.
