Abstract:

To provide an anode for heating a shift type plasma with a means of retarding the melt loss rate of a leading end to prolong the lifetime.

In a shift type plasma torch in which direct current is energized to heat melted metal in a container, and Ar plasma is generated while heating the melted metal, the shift type plasma torch comprises an electrode made of conductor metal having inner water cooling structure, a metallic protection body having inner water cooling structure provided at a distance from outside of the anode, and a means for supplying as containing Ar to gaps between the anode and the protection body, wherein a protrusion is provided at a central portion at the end of the cooling structure of the anode.
