To speedily operate radio communication by decoding a local code from a reception frequency, calculating the azimuth of its own antenna by referring to the local code of its own station, and deciding the position of the antenna.
After a signal, on which a local code is superimposed, is received and demodulated by an antenna 1 and a reception part 3, that signal is decoded to the local code and inputted to a CPU 5. At the CPU 5, it is discriminated whether the inputted code is a local code or not. Afterwards, the distance to the opposite station and the azimuth are calculated from the inputted local code while using the previously stored local code of its own station. Rotator driving time for turning the antenna 1 to the prescribed azimuth is calculated from the calculated azimuth and the azimuth of the antenna 1 at present, and based on the calculated rotation driving time, a rotator is driven by a rotator control part 6. Thus, a satisfactory effect is provided in long-range communication.
