PURPOSE: To provide the antenna system by which an incoming radio wave is acquired with simple configuration.
CONSTITUTION: Output signals from antenna elements A1-A4 are received via phase shifters B1-B4 by a combiner 1, in which the signals are combined. A major beam direction in the synthesis radiation directivity is controlled by controlling a phase shift of the phase shifters B1-B4. The major beam direction is quantized by a predetermined quantization interval. Then a mode number corresponding to the quantized major beam direction is generated from a CPU 20. An address corresponding to the mode number is given to a ROM 10. A ROM 10 gives a control signal to set each phase shift of the phase shifters B1-B4 to phase shifter drivers D1-D4 in response thereto. A mode maximizing a reception level detected by an amplitude detector 2 is set in the initial acquisition state.
