Abstract:
To provide a monoclonal antibody for recognizing only an abnormal prion protein.
An anti-abnormal prion monoclonal antibody or its antigen- binding fragment which reacts with the abnormal prion protein as the corresponding antigen and does substantially not react with a normal prion protein is provided. Thereby, the anti-abnormal prion monoclonal antibody or its antigen-binding fragment which reacts with the abnormal prion protein as the corresponding antigen and does substantially not react with the normal prion protein is provided for the first time. Since the monoclonal antibody reacts with the natural abnormal prion protein as the corresponding antigen, the assay of the abnormal prion protein can highly sensitively be assayed.
