Abstract:

To obtain an antibacterial and antifungal agent capable of exhibiting excellent antibacterial and antifungal activities not only at the directly applied site but also at the vicinity thereof, and, when the released antibacterial and antifungal component is a fragrant component, capable of imparting not only the antibacterial and antifungal activities but also good fragrance to the environment.

This antibacterial and antifungal agent contains an acetal derivative, an adduct to an inorganic salt, or a Schiff base derivative of an antibacterial and antifungal aldehyde compound or an antibacterial and antifungal ketone compound.
