PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition which forms a film excellent in antibacterial property and weather resistance and also in water resistance, organic chemical resistance, acid resistance, heat resistance, hardness, etc., on the surface of a cloth, mainly consisting of an organo-alkoxysilane, a hydrophilic organic solvent, water and an antibacterial agent.

CONSTITUTION: The title composition mainly consists of 100pts.wt. (in terms of organoalkoxysilane) organoalkoxysilane of the formula (wherein R is a 1W8C organic group, R' is a 1W5C alkyl or a 1W4C acyl), its hydrolyzate and/or its partial mixture, 15W300pts.wt. hydrophilic organic solvent (B), 15W250pts.wt. water (C) and 2W200pts.wt. antibacterial agent. This composition can form a microporous film, has high water absorptivity, can exhibit antibacterial, bacterial and deodorizing properties against a wide variety of bacteria such as aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and microbes such as algae especially in a low- humidity air or an atmosphere containing a very small amount of water, and can form a film excellent in water resistance, organic chemical resistance, acid resistance, weather resistance, heat resistance, hardness, etc., on the surface of, especially, a cloth such as nonwoven cloth, woven cloth or paper.
