Abstract:

To provide a lactoferrin-based antibacterial fiber or an antibacterial processing agent for fibers.leather having excellent washing durability which is surely fixed on a fiber so as to satisfactorily exhibit antibacterial property of lactoferrin or a specific short peptide.

This antibacterial fiber is fixed with an antibacterial component through a resin-based fixing agent such as polyacrylamide resin. The antibacterial component is an antibacterial multiple antigen peptide in which C-terminals of a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence are respectively joined to 16 N-terminals of a branched type peptide consisting of 15 lysine molecules or a bovine lactoferrin, or an antibacterial component containing both components. Otherwise, the antibacterial processing agent for fibers.leather is obtained by using the polyacrylamide resin as a fixing agent and the lactoferrin as an antibacterial active component.
